Courses:

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

GNM or General Nursing Midwifery is a Three and a half-year diploma course in the field of Nursing. Students who wish to pursue GNM diploma can proceed after passing their class 12 exam with any stream.

GNM course is an integral part of the healthcare system which promotes health checkup and prevention of illness within the broad spectrum of health care. A vast number of inputs are given in the duration of the course which includes modules and subjects such as anatomy and physiology.

GNM course offers on ground training to the candidates to gain practical experience. The sole purpose of the course is to address the needs of the patients with the help of clinical methodologies by making the candidates ready.

Eligibility Criteria:

 

Age

Age must be between 17 to 35 years as on the 1st January 2024.

 

Minimum Educational Qualification

Passed Higher Secondary Examination (10th+2) preferably with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or passed equivalent Exam from any recognized Council / Board with at least 45% marks in aggregate in individual subjects mentioned above and preferably passed in English separately.

 

Medical Fitness

The candidate will not be admitted, if she is found medically unfit. the following Examination are to be done at Ashok Nilay Institute of Nursing before admission.

  1. Physical Examination by a (Registered) medical practitioner
  2. Chest x – ray PA view
  3. Routine examination of Blood, urine and stool
  4. Blood group & RH factor
  5. Eye testing

 

Others

 1 Candidates from vocational streams at any open school will not be accepted.

 2 Candidates must be able to read, write and express in Bengali and English.

 3 The candidates must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of West Bengal for at least 5 years uninterruptedly on the  date of application.

 4 Only female Unmarried /Widow /Divorce can apply for the course.

 5 Course is fully residential.

  • Passport size recent colored photo – 4 such (name to be written in backside)
  • Self-attested photocopy of mark sheet of H.S Exam / Equivalent Exam.
  • Age proof certificate: self-attested photocopy of Admit Card / Certificate of Madhyamik Exam. /Equivalent Exam Board / Council, where date of birth of candidate is motioned.
  • Original copy of residential certificate: to be issued by a local (where the candidate resides) Sabhapati of Zilla Parishad / Sabhapati of panchayat samiti /Pradhan of gram panchayat / Mayor or Councilor of Municipal Corporation / Chairman of Municipality / Ward Councilor of Municipality /MP/MLA.
  • Domicile Certificate issued by Appropriate Authority
  • Candidates from SC/ST/OBC category must submit her own caste certificate issued by District Magistrate / Sub-Divisional Officer.
